What is Home?
Mom’s warm embrace,
Dad’s reassuring pat on my shoulder,
Brother saving his last bite,
Sister sharing her favorite dress,
A friend’s comforting hug.
Leaving everything behind, but for what?
To be the breadwinner of the family,
To prove worth to the world.
I’m leaving my whole world behind.
From giggles and laughter,
To screaming and crying,
My home witnessed every shade of me.
Leaving my safety net,
In hopes of reuniting.
Perhaps the sky will change,
Perhaps the moon will change too
But the yearning of the heart remains.
In hopes of better tomorrow ,
I leave.
In hopes of returning one day.
